Don't count on your adopted cats...
It's been another week for returns - Sherbert and Spumoni got returned tonight. Their first adoption lasted over a year, their second adoption lasted just under 48 hours. The family claims that they are wonderful cats, sweet and playful, but the wife had a bad allergic reaction to them. I also got a cat back that was adopted last year - Princess Annaliese. She didn't get along with the dog and started pooping all over the house. So now I get to try to rehab her and see if she poops all over my house. Know of any good barns? Just in case. Then a woman will probably be returning a kitten that she adopted this spring. Never had luck litter training it. Called us several times, we gave her good advice, she just wouldn't follow the important parts and now the kitten has a serious problem. Hopefully she can figure it out in the next two weeks, because that's the deadline that her new mom has given her - that's when her annoyance at her problem will be greater than the love she feels for her. We do the best we can and think that we've found the right home for them. There aren't always enough "perfect" homes, so sometimes you hope that the "good enough" ones really are good enough.
